What is a solar eclipse? And Other Views about it!!

What is a solar eclipse? (Surya Grahan)☀️🌑

During a Solar eclipse the Sun, Moon and Earth

☀️--🌝--🌎 are in a straight line and the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth, due to which the rays of the sun are blocked from reaching the Earth. This darkens the sky as if it is night time.

There are three kinds of solar eclipses: Total, Partial and Annular. During a total solar eclipse, the Moon fully blocks the Sun, with the people on Earth unable to see it and there being complete darkness. During a partial solar eclipse, the Moon covers a part of the Sun making a recent shape sun visible to the people. Lastly, during an annular solar eclipse, the Moon covers the Sun fully, but due to its relatively small size the out ring of the Sun is completely visible to the people.

Moon will cover the Sun from the centre leaving a ring of light visible in the sky. This will happen as the Moon will be far away from Earth, which will make its relative size not big enough to cover the Sun completely.

What happens if we directly looks eclipse?

Directly looking at the sun during the eclipse can affect our eyes. Because normally visible rays constrict the pupil and does not allow the person to be able to watch the sun for long. During an eclipse, these normal rays are cut off, allowing a person to look at the sun for a longer duration as a result of which the ultra violet rays can penetrate the eyes deeper and for longer period causing retina burn.

There will only be two solar eclipses this year. The first one will take place on June 21, whereas, the next one will take place on December 14. The next solar eclipse will be a total solar eclipse

Science behind avoiding food during Eclipse in Indian custom ⁉️🌒

When the moon, comes between sun and earth, it releases radiations which are not good for the human body. These radiations badly affect the food and give birth to bacteria, which when consumed may cause disorder and lead to different diseases too.

In case we think that avoiding food during an eclipse is a belief that Indian people follow blind superstition, we are going wrong. It is duly mentioned in the scriptures that graham period is unlucky and one should avoid eating food, as it leads to many diseases. In the holy Skanda Purana

Science has proved that during an eclipse, there is enhanced radiation of ultraviolet and other rays that contaminate food. On a eclipse day, the radiations of the Sun are more intensive and hence deteriorate the living cells at a faster rate. Obviously, the consumption of such food will be harmful for us if take it during solar eclipse period and got exposed to light. Although there may not be any immediate and reaction, in due course of time, our teeth or digestive system are affected. Cooked food is affected as it contains water, and during an eclipse, water attracts more radiations, which in turn contaminate the food.  Hence, if there a cooked food during eclipse, it would be considered as rotten food and not fit for eating.

To prevent this, it was guided by our ancient people to consume food before 3 hours to eclipse and avoid food during Surya Graham.

Tulsi leaves are placed on cooked food to repel radiations. Bcoz Tulsi has anti- bacterial properties that prevents the growth of bacteria.

Today's young generation believe in science only,

If NASA or any other modern scientist say something they believe it. But if the same thing was said by our ancients, they say superstition.

Unfortunately if it is proved through Puranas/Vedas in Sanskrit wording, they connect it with regilion & community. Here I want give a small example of Hanuman Chalisa.  it is said :

 **Yug sahastra yojan per Bhanu!*

 *Leelyo taahi madhur phal janu!!**

1 Yug = 12000 years

1 Sahastra = 1000

1 Yojan = 8 Miles

Yug x Sahastra x Yojan = par Bhanu

12000 x 1000 x 8 miles = 96,000,000 miles

1 mile = 1.6kms

96,000,000 miles x 1.6kms = 1,536,000,000 kms / 96,000,000 miles to Sun

💁🏻‍♂️It was the calculation distance between the Sun and Earth

But people believed only after NASA has said that, it is the exact distance between Earth and Sun (Bhanu)🙏🏻🤦🏻‍♂️

Hanuman Chalisa was written by Sant Kavi Tulsidas back in the 15th century in the Awadhi language, and is his best known text apart from the Ramcharitmanas.

Bhaskara I and others, the value of the earth’s diameter is given as 1,050 yojanas, which translates to 3,300 yojanas as the equatorial circumference (based on Aryabhata’s extremely accurate value of pi, 3.1416).

💦 wish U all Sound Health and sound mind
